Study says that people do not wear at least 50% of their wardrobe. The percentage of clothes that go unworn is a lot higher than most think. Maybe it's a good time to go through your wardrobe and ask yourself, what hasn't been worn in the last 12 months? Perhaps the reason why you never touch these items is because they don't fit well or simply don't suit your lifestyle. We all have that one dress, which we keep in case there is an extravagant party to go to, however, the reality might be that you are at home most of the time and prefer going to casual parties.
Here's how to make sure that you have an organised and perfectly curated wardrobe:
Buy or keep clothes that fits well
Most people look at the design when shopping for fashion and tend to compensate the fit for the design. However, this is usually how these clothes end up at the bottom of your wardrobe after being worn once or twice. Naturally people go for clothes in their wardrobe that have a good fit and are comfortable to be in. When we say comfortable, it doesn't necessarily mean that these clothes are ugly! There are many clothes out there that are both comfortable and fashionable. We, Wild & Gorgeous, always considers comfort in our designs and we do this by using soft-to-the-skin qualities and create easy openings. A good tip before you spend money buying clothes is to get some accurate measurements for your body and keep them up to date. Once you have these, you'll be ready to shop.
Buy or keep clothes that suits you and your lifestyle
As well as considering the fit of your clothes, it is important to consider also the psychological and lifestyle elements. What kind of clothes fit into the location you’re in? What will make you feel psychologically comfortable in each situation? What do you want to express through your clothes? These are a few questions that you should ask yourself when buying new clothes. Consider how you spend the majority of your time and check that 85-90% of your wardrobe is practical. This way you will be able to ‘love’ all your clothes instead of accumulating things you ‘like’. You will no longer have to dig through items you don’t wear. Being satisfied with your wardrobe will mean you will be able to spend your money on more important things.
